25 years of BauWerke – Fritz Breitenthaler invited to a vernissage

“Innsbruck, Vienna, Berlin… after studying architecture in Austria, my decision in 1991 to move to the German capital with its dynamic design opportunities and establish my own company there was a clear step,” recalls Fritz Breitenthaler, a graduate engineer.

After managing a renowned, internationally active architectural firm, he founded BauWerke GmbH, based in Berlin-Charlottenburg, in early 2000.

Since then, his architectural and general planning office, with an international team of experienced architects and young talents as a reliable partner, has been responsible for the conception, design, planning, and supervision of numerous major projects, extending beyond the German-speaking region to China and the USA – often including project management and assuming client responsibilities.

Prominent clients include the Office of the Federal President under then-Federal President Horst Köhler with the redesign of Bellevue Palace, the RTL Media Group with its new Berlin studio, global companies such as Amazon, Nvidia, and Novartis, numerous German international companies, and various security authorities.

One outstanding project is the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) at BER Airport, which was completed within a particularly ambitious time and cost framework. BauWerke was previously responsible for the renovation of Terminal C at Schönefeld Airport.

“A broad and strong network of specialist planners and engineers enables our architects to efficiently implement even extremely complex projects,” says the founder and managing director. “BauWerke has grown organically and sustainably for 25 years, and this remains our goal for the future.”

A special setting for celebrating this occasion was provided by an opening reception at the BauWerke offices on Sophie-Charlotten-Straße in Berlin on Friday evening, June 27, 2025, hosted by Fritz Breitenthaler.

Around 150 guests from the business, art, culture, politics, and construction sectors accepted his invitation.

Impressive sculptures and paintings by the two Berlin artists Lotte Thünker and Norman Gebauer were on display.

“Something first-class was created here with great commitment, precision, and passion – both over the past decades as a successful entrepreneur and with this event on this anniversary evening,” one guest acknowledged.

“But we’ve come to expect nothing less from him,” a longtime companion added with a smile.

Fritz Breitenthaler sincerely thanked his clients, his team, partners, friends, and family for the successful journey they have taken together.

He raised his glass to the past 25 years and the next.
