Broadcasting studios and offices for RTL media group

The project consists of three buildings and a renovated building from the 19th-century. The complex is located in the heart of Berlin, in the “City Palace Behrens”. BauWerke GmbH was responsible for the interior design and procurement. The new rooms are on the ground floor as well as on fourth and sixth floor and at the roof level. On the upper floors are offices, conference rooms and a lounge for the employees. There are also editing stations with sound booths, the control room as well as the new editorial office for news formats. Winter garden studio and a roof terrace are on the top of the building. Ten editing stations with four sound booths for the contributions of the current coverage (politics and boulevard) and reports are in use. The main studio at the new location has an area of 240 square meters with a video and sound direction attached. It will be used for talk formats produced by n-tv, but also for commissioned productions with an audience up to 150 people. Four professional HD cameras, flexible light installation as well as many playback and recording technology are in use. A highlight, literally, is the winter garden on the roof, which can be used for live productions with views of the German Reichstag or the Alexanderplatz with the television tower in the background.
