CONSTRUCTION SITE INSPECTION IT AND FINANCIAL GROUP KLARNA
Commissioned by the Swedish IT and financial group KLARNA, BauWerke managed a sophisticated office project in Berlin-Mitte to create the international company’s German headquarters. The original building—now a listed heritage site—was constructed between 1913 and 1914. Designed by Arnold Kuthe, the complex included two inner courtyards and Berlin’s first parking garage; the developer was the “AG für Automobilfirmen” (Automotive Companies Corporation).
The BauWerke project management team coordinated the architectural design, overall building systems, IT and security technology, structural engineering, fire safety measures, and building and room acoustics throughout all phases of planning and execution.
– Chausseestraße, Berlin –
“Chausseestraße in Berlin-Mitte is the oldest street in the Oranienburg district. Stretching approximately 1.7 kilometers, it runs from Friedrichstraße in the southeast to Müllerstraße in the northwest. Numerous notable Berlin buildings and cemeteries—some of which are listed heritage sites—are located along its route. Following the year 1800, Prussia’s first early-capitalist heavy industry developed along this street, followed by the country’s first railway manufacturing plants.”
