Conversion and renovation of the office building Chaussestr. 117 for the IT and finance group KLARNA

On behalf of the Swedish IT and finance group KLARNA, BauWerke accompanied a demanding office project in Berlin-Mitte for the German headquarters of the international company. The original building, which is now a listed building, was built in 1913-1914. Based on a design by Arnold Kuthe, two courtyards and Berlin’s first multi-storey car park were built. The client was the “AG for automobile companies”.

The project management team from BauWerke coordinated the areas of architecture, the entire building, information and security technology as well as structural planning, fire protection, building and room acoustics in all phases of planning and execution.

“Chausseestrasse in Berlin’s Mitte district is the oldest street in the Oranienburg suburb. It is around 1.7 kilometers long and leads from Friedrichstrasse in the south-east to Müllerstrasse in the north-west. Along the way are numerous notable buildings and cemeteries in Berlin, some of which are classified as are registered as monuments. Along this road, the first early capitalist heavy industry in Prussia developed after 1800, followed by the first railway production sites in the country. “
