General Aviation Terminal Airport BER

As part of the redesign and expansion of the General Aviation Terminal at BER Airport, BauWerke, in coordination with the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport Company, was commissioned by New GAT Berlin GmbH in 2022 to provide general planning for all work phases.

In addition to all architectural services, this included structural planning, technical building services, fire protection, and all other necessary specialist planning and expert opinions.

The General Aviation Terminal (GAT) serves as the departure and arrival terminal for all general aviation flights, particularly business aviation, at the capital’s airport.

In addition to the security and flight operations facilities and areas, it houses the necessary premises for the service and office operations of several government agencies and companies, the handling areas for passengers, crews, and ground staff, as well as high-quality lounges and conference areas.

Due to the complexity of the project, particularly with regard to the requirements of ongoing flight operations, increased safety regulations, exceptional construction logistics, the specified cost framework, and a strict completion date with an extremely short construction period, BauWerke was also commissioned with project management. As a result, all quality targets were met, the construction schedule was undercut, and the budget was adhered to.
